Choc Molten Cakes
Every time I am at a restaurant and this is on the menu, you know I’m going to order it!
Which is exactly why I had to re-create it at home! They are so easy, so delicious and if you make them for guests they will be super impressed!
There is nothing better than when you break it open and that chocolate oozes out - so good!
With this recipe, oven temperatures are really important and they vary per oven. My advice would be to test one first and once you’ve nailed the cooking time, then cook the rest!
Serve with a side of vanilla ice cream and some berries and dust in extra cocoa powder.
Prep Time: 15min
Cooking Time: 15min
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
80g butter
100g dark cooking chocolate
1 TBS cocoa
2 TBS milk
2 eggs, whisked
75g caster sugar
30g brown sugar
50g plain flour
4 baking ramekins
Method:
Preheat oven to 200c
Melt butter and chocolate in the microwave in 30 second bursts, stirring in between until melted
Whisk the eggs and sugars together until combined
Pour in the melted chocolate and butter, milk, and cocoa. Stir until combined
Fold through the flour until combined
Spray the ramekins generously with cooking spray oil and then dust with cocoa
Fill each one about 1/2 - 3/4 full, depending on how big the ramekins are. Ensure that the mixture is evenly distributed
Place them on a baking tray and cook for about 12 mins - check them to ensure they are set but still wobbly whe
Leave them to sit for a few seconds and then run a butter knife around the edges to help pop them out
Flip them out onto a plate and dust with extra cocoa
Serve with ice cream and berries and enjoy that ooze!
