Beef Stir fry
A classic beef stir fry is something everyone should have in their cooking repertoire!
This beef stir fry recipe will teach you how to make the perfect beef stir fry that is packed full of flavour, but most importantly the beef is sooo tender!
The secret to a good stir fry in my opinion is to marinate the meat in cornflour, soy sauce and chinese wine. It gives it a really nice coating and keeps it super tender.
I love packing my stir fries full of veges! This is the perfect quick and easy weeknight meal and is on repeat in my household!
Prep Time: 15 min
Cooking Time: 20 min
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
Rump Steak
2 TSP cornflour
1 TBS soy sauce
1 TBS Chinese Cooking Wine
1 onion
2 garlic cloves
1 carrot, cut on an angle
1 small head of broccoli
1/2 red capsicum
Sesame seeds and shallots to garnish
Sauce:
4 TSP cornstarch
2 TBS soy
1 TBS oyster
2 TBS Chinese wine
1 TSP sambal
1 TBS recap manis
2 tbs water
Dash sesame oil
Method:
Cut the steak into thin slices
In a bowl, mix together the cornflour, soy sauce and Chinese cooking wine and mix in the steak. Let it marinate for 5 minutes
Meanwhile, heat a wok over a high heat and add some oil
Add the meat in batches, and cook until browned on both sides. Only roughly 1-2 mins each side as you don’t want to overcook them. Remove from pan
Add a little bit of oil and add the onions and garlic and cook for a few minutes
Add the remaining vegetables and cook for 5 mins until they start to soften.
Meanwhile, mix the sauce ingredients in a jug
Add the meat back into the wok and pour the sauce over
Cook for a few minutes until its thickened and glossy.
Garnish with spring onions and sesame seeds
Serve with boiled rice and enjoy!
